Stranger Things is a sci-fi web television series set in a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s. Stranger Things Season 1 Plot
It all began in November 1983, in a US Department of Energy laboratory when scientists at the laboratory succeeded in opening a tunnel to an alternate dimension called the “Upside Down”. A monster escapes from the alternate world and abducts Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). This led to a furor of searches led by Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), his mother and the Police Chief, Jim Hopper (David Harbour).
Meanwhile, Will’s friends, Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) , and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb Mclaughlin) got help from the unlikeliest of places, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), a strange kid with panorama powers who has escaped from the laboratory earlier, assisted Will’s friends in their own efforts to find him.
Expertly weaving into the story a tang of investigative drama alongside panorama elements while touching on the childlike sensibilities and setting the time frame in the 1980s, the Duffer Brothers linked the series with great movies of the era – paying homage to Spielberg films and other classic movies of the time.
