How to connect PandaPow L2TP on Ubuntu

This page describes the process configure connect to PandaPow’s L2TP and L2TP/IPSec servers on Ubuntu.

 

Step 1: Install the packages

First you need to install the L2TP and IPSec software on your Ubuntu computer. This is usually easiest done using a Terminal window, and issuing the following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:werner-jaeger/ppa-werner-vpn

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install l2tp-ipsec-vpn

You may also need to issue the following to allow the new package to attach to the System Tray:

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"

 

Step 2: Restart the computer.

In order for the new packages to be configured properly, please reboot the computer.

 

Step 3: Setup an L2TP/IPSec connection

In the IPSec tab you need to fill in:

In the L2TP tab you need to check Length bit

In the PPP tab you should fill in the VPN username and password that you received from us when you signed up. You can also find these in the client area.
